Myopia
Myopia, previously known as nearsightedness, is an eye disease where you can see better up close (like reading a book) than far away (looking at street signs or objects in the distance)1. It can lead to vision complications later in life.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia is an age-related decrease in the ability to see nearby objects, especially in low light. Presbyopia symptoms
usually start around the age of 40; however, the condition can be improved with eye surgery and contact lenses.2
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a variation in the curvature of the cornea 3 or in the shape of the eye's lens. Astigmatism results in blurred or distorted vision at all distances. Laser vision correction and contact lenses can address astigmatism.
Dry Eye
Dry Eye is a condition that arises when an individual experiences insufficient quantity and/or quality of tears, leading to inadequate lubrication and nourishment of the eye, as well as excessive tear evaporation. Dry Eye is a common problem, particularly in older adults. Treatment for dry eye symptoms can help before cataract or laser vision correction procedures. 4
Cataracts
Cataracts occur when the normally clear lens of the eye becomes cloudy. As aging occurs, protein from the lens clumps together, causing blurring, clouding, and discoloration of the lens. Cataracts are the #1 cause of preventable blindness.5,6
