What’s in a Lens?

Contact lenses are more than just a piece of plastic

Contact Lenses are complex medical devices that interact with the eye environment, including the cornea, tear film, and eyelids.

With more than 10 structural and chemical features that are unique to each brand of contact lenses, it’s no wonder they are classified as Class II and III medical devices by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)1. And today, doctors have more than 160 brands of contact lenses to choose as they assess patient needs.
