Johnson & Johnson Vision Introduces the Next Level of Customized Treatment with iDESIGN® Refractive Studio at ESCRS Annual Meeting

iDESIGN® Refractive Studio delivers the first and only LASIK procedure with topography-integrated, wavefront-guided technology

SANTA ANA, Calif. (October 7, 2017) – Johnson & Johnson Vision today announces the CE mark of its new iDESIGN® Refractive Studio, which integrates corneal topography measurements into the current wavefront-guided treatment to deliver the next level of customized treatment for patients undergoing laser vision correction surgery.

The five-in-one iDESIGN® System captures more than 1,200 micro readings of the eye to give a precise refraction. The shape and curvature of the cornea are also precisely measured in a single three-second scan. This information is used for both patient screening and treatment planning. The uniquely customized iDESIGN Procedure drives high patient satisfaction and delivers quality visual outcomes.

“Johnson & Johnson Vision’s new iDESIGN® Refractive Studio integrates the latest topography mapping into our wavefront-guided technology, enabling surgeons to measure the entire visual pathway and create an optical fingerprint unique to each patient’s eye,” said Tom Frinzi, Worldwide President, Surgical, Johnson & Johnson Vision. “This advanced software ushers in the next level of customization.”

iDESIGN® Refractive Studio offers important advancements to improve customized treatment planning, patient qualification, diagnostics, and practice workflow.

Johnson & Johnson Vision will release iDESIGN® Refractive Studio through its surgical vision operating company, Abbott Medical Optics Inc.
