On February 1, 2024 Erin Schallhorn Powers will join the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Vision team in its optometry (contact lens) business. Erin will work closely with the Vision Care team to oversee the marketing initiatives in support of our optometry portfolio. On May 1, 2024, Erin will then transition to a new role leading the Surgical Vision marketing, sales, and professional education teams in support of our ophthalmology portfolio.

"Erin's talent, leadership, and experience in the eye health community will serve as a galvanizing force for our Johnson & Johnson team as they work with eye care providers in our shared pursuit to make vision possible for more patients across the U.S.," shared Lori Tierney, President, J&J Vision Americas.

A veteran of the eye health industry, Erin comes to Johnson & Johnson with nearly 20 years of experience across vision-focused companies, including Zeiss, Alcon, AMO/VISX, and most recently, BVI. She’s a proven leader known for her deep relationships within the eye health community, with a track record of establishing strategic business functions, developing ophthalmic and optometric market segments, as well as medical affairs and professional education management.

She is the immediate past-President of the Ophthalmic World Leaders organization, a member of the Board of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the industry representative on the Oracle Vision Council, Co-Chair of the Women of Dartmouth Development Committee, and a member of the Chief network. Erin holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and the London Business School.

This revises and replaces a different prior announcement, which included an earlier start date.
